Discovery flights
Your first time at the controls, with me beside you the whole time. No experience needed, and it's the easiest way to find out if lessons are for you.
One-on-one flight instruction in Atlanta, from your first discovery flight to your private, instrument, and commercial certificates. Already a pilot? I also do flight reviews and instrument proficiency checks.

Every certificate builds on the one before it. Start wherever you are, and we'll plan the next leg together.

I'm Blaine Henderson, a Certified Flight Instructor and Instrument Instructor (CFI/CFII) at DeKalb-Peachtree Airport. Because I teach one-on-one, you fly with the same instructor every lesson: someone who knows where you left off and what you need next.
I teach in the Cessna 150, Cessna 172, and Piper PA-28-180. Whether your goal is a first solo, an instrument rating, or getting current again, we'll plan the lessons around it, with one aim: making you a confident, safe, and proficient pilot.
Fly with meNo. A discovery flight is built for people who have never flown a plane. You'll take the controls with an instructor beside you the whole time.
Just the desire to learn. Before you fly solo, you'll need a student pilot certificate and an FAA medical certificate. We'll walk through both early in your training.
Start with a flight review. If you're instrument rated and your currency has lapsed, an instrument proficiency check gets you back to legally flying IFR.
All lessons fly out of DeKalb-Peachtree Airport (PDK) in Atlanta. Send me a message and I'll send you the meeting details.
You can start lessons at any age. You must be at least 16 to fly solo and 17 to earn a private pilot certificate.
Every pilot needs a flight review every 24 calendar months to keep flying. An IPC is for instrument-rated pilots whose instrument currency has lapsed. It gets you legally back to flying in the clouds.
